Civil
insurrection in America and government countermeasures: The official
papers
By
Bradley Moscrip
An
in-depth study of official American plans to construct FEMA
detention centers in America and specific recent U.S. Army domestic
counterinsurgency plans. Here is a sampling of the ebook contents:
Gun
Control by Confiscation
As the American general population is known to be
the most heavily armed in the world, immediately upon the
declaration of Martial Law and the execution by the military of
counterinsurgency programs, it has been determined that the BATF,
will begin the process of rounding up all rifles, pistols and
so-called assault weaponry from the civil population. Lists of gun
collectors obtained from firearms dealers, gun magazine subscription
lists and other sources will be the basis for these mass
confiscations. Gun owners will be supplied documentation by the BATF
showing which pieces have been confiscated so that in the future,
they will be told, they can recover their weapons when the state of
emergency has passed. In actuality, weapons that do not have a high
value or are not suitable for arming loyalist police forces, will be
destroyed by order

The Voice of the
White House
Washington, D.C.,
February 19, 2009: “The new President might be bringing some
pleasure to those in dire financial need but he is certainly
bringing anger and fear to Israel. We know from their diplomatic
messaging that Tel Aviv’s attitude fluctuates between hope and
fear; hope that Obama will be as obedient and pliant as Bush was and
fear that he might steer a different course. Obama is threatening to
make peace in the Middle East and Israel wants America to smite her
enemies while at the same time stuffing her stockings with all kinds
of weapons of mass destruction and, most important, large bundles of
unearned money. They hope this will happen but they are afraid it
might not. AIPAC and the Neocons have lost their power inside the
Beltway and Tel Aviv is just beginning to understand this. They had
it their way so long, like the far right Christians and Republicans,
that loss of power hurts. Obama is very, very smart. He went to the
rabid right in Congress and tendered an olive branch, telling the
public that he wanted to work in cooperation with the Republicans to
help America out of her worsening economic dilemma. Of course the
far right relics rejected his offer with surly sneers, guaranteeing
that most of the rest of them will be thrown out when the next mid
terms come around. It was a safe offer for him to make because he
knew they would spit in his fact but for them to do this in public
was a public relations disaster of the first water. Stupid as they
are, it will take some time for this to sink in and in the mean
time, they will be steamrollered by a wave of negative publicity and
will end up talking to themselves in public lavatories like ‘Wide
Stance’ Larry Craig. The removal from power of both the vicious
Israelis and the equally vicious domestic
far right will be the first step in rebuilding public trust in their
government.”
Storm
brews between US and Israel
February 19, 2009
by Jim Lobe
Asia Times
WASHINGTON - After eight years of
the closest possible relations, the United States and Israel may be
headed for a period of increased strain, particularly as it appears
likely that whatever Israeli government emerges from last week's
election will be more hawkish than its predecessor.
Iran, with which President Barack Obama has pledged to engage
in a "constructive dialogue", and the future of its
nuclear program will no doubt be the greatest source of tension
between the two allies. The new president's commitment to achieving
real progress on a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian
conflict may also provoke serious friction.
This will particularly be the case should a reunified Arab
League launch a major new push for the adoption of its 2002 peace
plan, which provides for Arab recognition of Israel in return for
thelatter's withdrawal from all occupied Arab lands.
Last week's election produced a clear majority for right-wing
parties led by the Likud Party of former prime minister Binyamin
Netanyahu, who has repeatedly declared his opposition to a
settlement freeze, territorial concessions and the creation of a
viable Palestinian state.
With the endorsement of Avigdor Lieberman, whose party,
Israel Our Home, came a strong third in last week's general
elections, Netanyahu appears increasingly likely to become prime
minister.
Even if the more-centrist Kadima leader, Foreign Minister
Tzipi Livni, can patch together a government of national unity, the
right-wing parties will be able to effectively block major
concessions in any peace talks, in the absence of any external
pressure.
"Given the philosophical differences between Kadima and
Likud on peace issues, such a unity government would be hard-pressed
to make the historic decisions needed to reach a deal with the
Palestinians," wrote former US Middle East peace negotiator,
Aaron David Miller, in the Jewish publication Forward this week.
But Obama and his Middle East Special Envoy George Mitchell
may indeed be willing to exert pressure on Israel - among other
things, by tabling their own views about a final peace agreement and
how precisely it might be achieved - especially if ongoing Arab
efforts to reconcile Hamas and Fatah in a new coalition government
succeed.
If all goes well on that front, the Arab League, fortified by
a developing rapprochement between Syria and Saudi Arabia, could
announce the latest version of its 2002 peace plan at next month's
summit in Doha, according to Marc Lynch, a George Washington
University specialist on Arab politics.
Such a move "could galvanize the situation and put the
onus on whatever Israeli government emerges to respond
positively", he wrote on his widely read blog on the Foreign
Policy website this week.
"If you have a unified Palestinian government and a
unified Arab move for peace," added Daniel Levy, a former
Israeli peace negotiator, "then it's much more likely that
Obama will step up his own efforts - ideally, working with an
Israeli government that's ready to go along with a serious peace
process, but, if not, being willing to make his disagreement [with
that government] known."
The result could be a serious test between the next Israeli
government and its influential US advocates. The Obama
administration clearly believes that real progress toward resolving
the 60-year-old conflict is critical both to restoring Washington's
credibility among the Arab states and curbing the further
radicalization of the region's population - particularly in the wake
of Israel's recent military offensive in Gaza.
A more likely source of tension between the US and Israel,
however, will be Iran's nuclear program.
"It's very important to realize that Iran is going to be
the most likely issue on which Israel and the United States will
have a serious difference of opinion, if not a confrontation, in the
next year," warned former US ambassador Samuel Lewis after the
Israeli elections.
Although Netanyahu has been the most outspoken, virtually the
entire Israeli political and military establishment has described
Iran's alleged nuclear ambitions as an "existential"
threat to the Jewish state. They have suggested that Israel should
be prepared to unilaterally attack Tehran's key nuclear facilities
as early as next year if it cannot persuade Washington to do so.
Already last year, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert asked former
president George W Bush for bunker-busting bombs, refueling capacity
and permission to fly over Iraq for an attack on Iran, according to
a new book by New York Times correspondent David Sanger, entitled Inheritance.
That request was strongly opposed by Pentagon Chief Robert
Gates, who has been retained by Obama, and ultimately rejected by
Bush. According to Bush's former top Middle East aide, Elliott
Abrams, Bush - who almost never denied the Israelis anything - was
worried that any attack on Iran risked destabilizing Iraq.
While the violence in Iraq has continued to decline, US
military commanders insist that stability there remains
"fragile", so Bush's concerns about the implications for
Iraq of a US or Israeli attack on Iran are likely to be shared by
Obama.
Even more important, however, is the new administration's
conviction that Afghanistan and Pakistan - which, like Iraq, also
border Iran - constitute the true "central front in the war on
terror". This assessment was backed up by Obama's announcement
this week that he will deploy 17,000 more US troops to Afghanistan
over the next few months, bringing the total US and North Atlantic
Treaty Organization (NATO) troop strength there to some 80,000.
Top US civilian and military officials dealing with "AfPak",
as the new administration has dubbed the two countries, have made
clear that they hope to enlist Iran, with which Washington
cooperated in ousting the Taliban in 2001, in helping to stabilize
Afghanistan.
''It is absolutely clear that Iran plays an important role in
Afghanistan," Obama's Special Envoy to Afghanistan and
Pakistan, Richard Holbrooke, said in Kabul earlier this week in an
interview during which he pointedly declined to repeat Bush
administration charges that Tehran was aiding the Taliban.
"[Iran has] a legitimate role to play in this region, as do all
of Afghanistan's neighbors," he insisted.
Most regional specialists, including Bruce Riedel, who
co-chairs the White House's "AfPak" policy review, and
John Brennan, Obama's top counter-terrorism adviser, have long
argued that Iran's cooperation would make Washington's effort to
stabilize the region and ultimately defeat al-Qaeda markedly easier
while, conversely, its active opposition, as in Iraq, is likely to
make the task considerably more difficult.
That assessment has, if anything, gained strength in just the
past few weeks as Washington has scrambled to secure new supply
lines into land-locked Afghanistan after a key bridge in Pakistan's
Khyber Pass was destroyed by Taliban militants there and Kyrgyzstan
threatened to end Washington's access to its Manas air base.
While US efforts to compensate have focused so far on the
overland route through Russia and the Central Asian "Stans",
a growing number of voices have noted that a much less costly and
more efficient alternative route would run from Iran's southern
ports into western Afghanistan.
Although Tehran would no doubt be very reluctant to permit
the US military to use its territory at this point, NATO's supreme
commander, US General John Craddock, said earlier this month that he
had no objection if other NATO members could negotiate an access
agreement with Iran.
Of course, it is not yet clear whether US success in "AfPak"
- and Iran's possible role in securing it - will help trump
Washington's concerns about Tehran's nuclear ambitions.
But the clear priority stabilizing Southwest Asia is being
given by the new administration, and the abrupt change in the
rhetoric emanating from Washington about Iran - not to mention
abiding concerns regarding Iran's ability to destabilize Iraq -
clearly run counter to Israel's efforts to depict Tehran's nuclear
program, as in Netanyahu's words, "the greatest challenge
facing the leaders of the 21st century ... ".
Obama will surely make it more difficult for Netanyahu or
anyone else in the next Israeli government to "harness the US
administration to stop the threat".

New
Yorkers to boycott NY Post over "racist" cartoon
February 19,
2009
by Edith
Honan–
Reuters
NEW YORK (Reuters) –
Hundreds of demonstrators rallied to boycott the New
York Post on Thursday, branding the newspaper as racist for
publishing a cartoon that appeared to compare President Barack
Obama to a chimpanzee.
Demonstrators
led by civil rights activist Al
Sharpton chanted "End racism now!" outside the
parent company's skyscraper in midtown
Manhattan and called for the jailing of Rupert
Murdoch, whose international media conglomerate News
Corp owns the Post.
The
newspaper has defended the cartoon as a parody of Washington
politics, but Sharpton said it exploited a potent image in the
history of racism toward blacks.
Published
on Wednesday, it shows police shooting
an ape and plays on the real shooting of a pet chimpanzee that went
on a rampage in Connecticut this
week.
One
of the police officers says, "They'll have to find someone else
to write the next stimulus bill."
Because
Obama promoted the $787 billion economic
stimulus that he signed into law on Tuesday, critics of the
cartoon interpreted the dead chimp as a reference to Obama, who
became the first black U.S. president on January
20.
"I
guess they thought we were chimpanzees," Sharpton said.
"They will find out we are lions."
Sharpton
said he would meet with advertisers to encourage them to pull their
ads and said New Yorkers would boycott the newspaper.
"You
would have to be in a time warp or in a whole other world not to
know what that means," said demonstrator Charles Ashley, 25, a
model who did not believe the cartoon was an innocent political
joke.
Others
said it made light of assassinating Obama, a possibility they said
that worries many African-Americans.
"Just
the fact that they put a monkey with gunshot
wounds in his chest, it gives the idea of an
assassination," said Peter Aviles, 48, a building
superintendent.
Police
in Stamford, Connecticut, shot and killed a 200-pound (90-kg)
chimpanzee on Monday after the pet nearly killed its owner's friend
and attacked a police car. The
chimp, named Travis, had once starred in television
commercials and was taking medication for Lyme disease.
New
York Post Editor-in-Chief Col
Allan said in a statement the cartoon "broadly mocks
Washington's efforts to revive the economy."

No
fans when Sweden hosts Israel for Davis Cup.
February
18, 2009
AP
MALMO,
Sweden (AP)—Sweden and Israel will play their first-round Davis
Cup match in an empty arena next month because of security concerns.
Several anti-Israeli demonstrations are planned during the
best-of-five series, which will be played March 6-8 at the
4,000-seat Baltic Hall.
Malmo officials announced the decision after a vote on the
issue in the city’s recreational committee. The Swedish Social
Democratic Party and the Left Party won the vote 5-4 after a long
debate.
The committee said it could not guarantee security for the
fans.
“It’s a high-risk match,” committee chairman Bengt
Forsberg was quoted as saying by Swedish news agency TT.
Only officials, some sponsors and journalists will be allowed
to enter the arena.
Carlos Gonzales Ramos, the committee’s vice chairman,
wanted to call off the match.
“But since it was not possible to do so, this was best
result,” he told TT.
This will be the second time a Davis Cup match will be played
in an empty arena in Sweden. In 1975, two years after a military
coup led by Augusto Pinochet against the elected Chilean government
of Salvador Allende, Sweden played Chile in Bastad and no spectators
were allowed.
The Malmo decision came after Israeli player Shahar Peer was
denied a visa to play in this week’s Dubai Tennis Championships.
Michael Klein, chairman of the Israel Tennis Federation, said
it was a shame that political demonstrators could force Sweden to
keep out fans.
“This means that they will not sell tickets to the general
public because they are expecting provocation by troublemakers who
have nothing to do with the sport,” he said. “It’s terrible
that they are trying to mix politics with sports, especially in an
enlightened country like Sweden.
“I trust the Swedes to hold the game in the spirit of
sports and not politics. It is not them but a group of troublemakers
who want to get attention who are doing this.”

U.S.,
Russian satellites collide in space
February
20, 2009
by
Jim Wolf
Reuters
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A privately owned U.S.
communications satellite collided with a defunct Russian military
satellite in the first such mishap in space, a U.S. military
spokesman said on Wednesday.
The crash, which took place on Tuesday above Russia's Arctic
north, involved a spacecraft of Iridium Satellite LLC and a Russian
communications satellite, said Air Force Colonel Les Kodlick of the
U.S. Strategic Command.
"We believe it's the first time that two satellites have
collided in orbit," he said, calling the debris potentially a
problem that could require more debris-avoidance maneuvers among
space-faring nations.
The crash occurred at roughly 485 miles, Kodlick said, an
altitude used by satellites that monitor weather, relay
communications and perform scientific observations.
"It's a very important orbit for a lot of
satellites" and highlighted a need for improved awareness of
events taking place in space, Kodlick said.
The command's Joint Space Operations Center is tracking 500
to 600 new bits of debris, some as small as 4 inches across, in
addition to the 18,000 or so other man-made objects it previously
catalogued in space, Kodlick said.
CONSTELLATION STILL OPERATING
Bethesda, Maryland-based Iridium operates the world's largest
commercial satellite constellation made up of some 66 cross-linked
satellites plus orbiting spares. It provides voice and data services
for areas not served by ground-based communications networks.
The operation remained healthy, though some customers may
experience brief outages pending a temporary fix expected to be in
place by Friday, said Liz DeCastro, an Iridium spokeswoman.
She said Iridium planned to move one of its in-orbit spare
satellites into the constellation to replace the lost craft within
30 days.
"This event is not the result of a failure on the part
of Iridium or its technology," DeCastro added in a statement.
Iridium's craft, shaped like a box with wings and weighing
about 1,300 pounds (600 kg), was launched in September 1997 aboard a
Russian rocket, said Jonathan McDowell, an astronomer at the
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and space program
historian.
The Russian craft, a barrel-shaped cylinder with a mass of
1,800 to 1,900 pounds (800 to 850 kg) known as Cosmos 2251, was
launched in June 1993 and probably stopped working five to 10 years
ago, he said.
The collision occurred in a polar orbit not far from that of
a defunct Chinese weather satellite shot apart by a ground-based
ballistic missile in a Chinese weapons test in January 2007. The
United States used a missile from a Navy warship to blow apart a
tank of toxic fuel on a defective U.S. spy satellite last February.
Among the 18,000-plus objects being tracked in space by the
U.S. Strategic Command are operational and defunct satellites, spent
rocket boosters and debris.
Nicholas Johnson, an orbital expert at NASA's Johnson Space
Center in Houston, said it was uncertain how much new debris had
been created by the crash.
"It takes a while for the debris to spread out and for
us to get an accurate head count," he said. NASA receives
orbital tracking services from the Defense Department and regularly
maneuvers its spacecraft to avoid debris.
The top priority is guarding the International Space Station,
which orbits at about 220 miles, substantially below the collision.
DeCastro said Iridium, which contracts with Boeing Co to
maintain and operate its satellites, received information about the
crash from the U.S. government.
There was no indication that the collision was intentional on
the part of anyone, said a U.S. government source who asked not to
be named.

Eyewitnesses
across the US see space debris falling from the sky
February
16. 2009
by
Bobby Johnson
Guardian/UK
Eyewitnesses
across America have reported debris falling from the sky, following
last week's unprecedented crash
between two satellites orbiting earth.
Wreckage
was seen falling from the sky as far apart as New Mexico, Texas and
Kentucky yesterday, with some eyewitnesses even reporting sightings
of a fireball blazing across the sky.
The
reports come just days after the two communications satellites –
one American and the other Russian - collided in space, creating a
huge cloud of fragments.
Texas
resident Brian Vaniceck told
the Waco Tribune-Herald that he saw a streak of light
pass across the sky as he was driving yesterday morning.
"We
just happened to look in that direction, and at first it looked
liked a falling star," he said, "But then it flared and
got really big, I guess that's what some people might describe as a
fireball."
Vanicek
- who lives near Zabcickville, around 120 miles south of Dallas -
said he watched the vapour trails for around 10 minutes.
The
reports followed the federal aviation authority's alert to US pilots
warning that "a potential hazard may occur due to re-entry of
satellite debris into the earth's atmosphere".
Roland
Herwig, a spokesman for the FAA's south-west region, said that
similar sightings had been reaching officials across the southern
states.
"Late
this morning, people started reporting to law enforcement there was
a fireball, and some people reported an explosion which we suspect
was probably a sonic boom," he told CNN yesterday.
The
two spacecraft smashed into each other over Siberia last Tuesday,
the first time two vehicles of such size had ever crashed together
while orbiting earth.
With
a combined weight of 1.5 tonnes, and a speed of more than 22,000
miles per hour, the collision created a dust cloud consisting of up
to 600 fragments.
Nasa
officials had previously said the cloud was not a danger to the
international space station, though it is not clear whether the
falling wreckage is a threat to human life.
Conversations
with the Crow: Part 67

note: When this series was prepared, a number of conversations were
deliberately redacted because they were either very personal in
nature or, more important, contained specific material which we felt

publication, along with illustrative specific notes, we are
publishing many of the hitherto off-limits examples. Enjoy

On October 8th, 2000, Robert Trumbull Crowley, once a leader
of the CIA's Clandestine Operations Division, died in a Washington
hospital of heart failure and the end effects of Alzheimer's
Disease. Before the late Assistant Director Crowley was cold, Joseph
Trento, a writer of light-weight books on the CIA, descended on
Crowley's widow at her town house on Cathedral Hill Drive in
Washington and hauled away over fifty boxes of Crowley's CIA files.
Once Trento had his new find secure in his house in Front
Royal , Virginia, he called a well-known Washington fix lawyer with
the news of his success in securing what the CIA had always
considered to be a potential major embarrassment. Three months
before, July 20th of that year, retired Marine Corps colonel William
R. Corson, and an associate of Crowley, died of emphysema and lung
cancer at a hospital in Bethesda, Md.
After Corson's death, Trento and a well-known Washington
fix-lawyer went to Corson's bank, got into his safe deposit box and
removed a manuscript entitled 'Zipper.' This manuscript, which dealt
with Crowley's involvement in the assassination of President John F.
Kennedy, vanished into a CIA burn-bag and the matter was considered
to be closed forever.
The small group
of CIA officials gathered at Trento's house to search through the
Crowley papers, looking for documents that must not become public. A
few were found but, to their consternation, a significant number of
files Crowley was known to have had in his possession had simply
vanished.
When published material concerning the CIA's actions against
Kennedy became public in 2002, it was discovered to the CIA's
horror, that the missing documents had been sent by an increasingly
erratic Crowley to another person and these missing papers included
devastating material on the CIA's activities in South East Asia to
include drug running, money laundering and the maintenance of the
notorious 'Regional Interrogation Centers' in Viet Nam and, worse
still, the Zipper files proving the CIA’s active organization of
the assassination of President John Kennedy..
A massive, preemptive disinformation campaign was readied,
using government-friendly bloggers, CIA-paid "historians"
and others, in the event that anything from this file ever surfaced.
The best-laid plans often go astray and in this case, one of the
compliant historians, a former government librarian who fancied
himself a serious writer, began to tell his friends about the CIA
plan to kill Kennedy and eventually, word of this began to leak out
into the outside world.
The originals had vanished and an extensive search was
conducted by the FBI and CIA operatives but without success.
Crowley's survivors, his aged wife and son, were interviewed
extensively by the FBI and instructed to minimize any discussion of
highly damaging CIA files that Crowley had, illegally,
removed from Langley when he retired. Crowley had been a close
friend of James Jesus Angleton, the CIA’s notorious head of
Counterintelligence. When Angleton was sacked by
DCI William Colby in December of 1974, Crowley and Angleton
conspired to secretly
remove Angleton’s most sensitive secret files our of the agency.
Crowley did the same thing right
before his own retirement , secretly removing thousands of pages
of classified information that covered his entire agency
career.
Known as “The Crow” within the agency, Robert T. Crowley
joined the CIA at its inception and spent his entire career in the
Directorate of Plans, also know as the “Department of Dirty
Tricks,”: Crowley was one of the tallest man ever to work at the
CIA. Born in 1924 and raised in Chicago, Crowley grew to six and a
half feet when he entered the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in
N.Y. as a cadet in 1943 in the class of 1946. He never graduated,
having enlisted in the Army, serving in the Pacific during World War
II. He retired from the Army Reserve in 1986 as a lieutenant
colonel. According to a book he authored with his friend and
colleague, William Corson, Crowley’s career included service in
military intelligence and Naval Intelligence, before joining the CIA
at inception in 1947. His entire career at the agency was spent
within the Directorate of Plans in covert operations. Before his
retirement, Bob Crowley became assistant deputy director for
operations, the second-in-command in the Clandestine Directorate of
Operations.
One of Crowley’s first major assignments within the agency
was to assist in the recruitment and management of prominent World
War II Nazis, especially those with advanced intelligence
experience. One of the CIA’s major recruitment coups was Heinrich
Mueller, once head of Hitler’s Gestapo who had fled to Switzerland
after the collapse of the Third Reich and worked as an
anti-Communist expert for Masson of Swiss counterintelligence.
Mueller was initially hired by Colonel James Critchfield of the CIA,
who was running the Gehlen Organization out of Pullach in
southern Germany. Crowley eventually came to despise Critchfield but
the colonel was totally unaware of this, to his later dismay.
Crowley’s real expertise within the agency was the Soviet
KGB. One of his main jobs throughout his career was acting as the
agency liaison with corporations like ITT, which the CIA often used
as fronts for moving large amounts of cash off their books. He was
deeply involved in the efforts by the U.S. to overthrow the
democratically elected government of Salvador Allende in Chile,
which eventually got him into legal problems with regard to
investigations of the U.S. government’s grand jury where he has
perjured himself in an agency cover-up
After
his retirement, Crowley began to search for someone who might be
able to write a competent history of his career. His first choice
fell on British author John Costello (author of Ten Days to
Destiny, The Pacific War and other works) but, discovering that
Costello was a very aggressive homosexual, he dropped him and
tentatively turned to Joseph Trento who had assisted Crowley and
William Corson in writing a book on the KGB. When Crowley discovered
that Trento had an ambiguous and probably cooperative relationship
with the CIA, he began to distrust him and continued his search for
an author.
Bob
Crowley first contacted Gregory Douglas
in 1993 when he
found out from John Costello that Douglas was about to publish his
first book on Heinrich Mueller, the former head of the Gestapo who
had become a secret, long-time asset to the CIA. Crowley contacted
Douglas and they began a series of long and often very informative
telephone conversations that lasted for four years. . In 1996,
Crowley , Crowley told Douglas
that he believed him to be the person that should ultimately
tell Crowley’s story but only after Crowley’s death. Douglas,
for his part, became so entranced with some of the material that
Crowley began to share with him that he secretly began to record
their conversations, later transcribing them word for word, planning
to incorporate some, or all, of the material in later publications.
In
1998, when Crowley was slated to go into the hospital for
exploratory surgery, he
had his son, Greg, ship two large foot lockers of documents to
Douglas with the caveat that they were not to be opened until after
Crowley’s death. These documents, totaled an astonishing 15,000 pages of CIA classified files involving
many covert operations, both foreign and domestic, during the Cold
War.
After
Crowley’s death and Trento’s raid on the Crowley files, huge
gaps were subsequently discovered by horrified CIA officials and
when Crowley’s friends mentioned Gregory Douglas, it was
discovered that Crowley’s son had shipped two large boxes to
Douglas. No one knew their contents but because Douglas was viewed
as an uncontrollable loose cannon who had done considerable damage
to the CIA’s reputation by his on-going publication of the history
of Gestapo-Mueller, they bent every effort both to identify the
missing files and make some effort to retrieve them before Douglas
made any use of them.
All of this furor eventually came to the attention of Dr.
Peter Janney, a Massachusetts clinical psychologist and son of
Wistar Janney, another career senior CIA official, colleague of not
only Bob Crowley but Cord Meyer, Richard Helms, Jim Angleton and
others. Janney was working on a book concerning the murder of Mary
Pinchot Meyer, former wife of Cord Meyer, a high-level CIA official,
and later the mistress of President John F. Kennedy.
Douglas had authored a book, ‘Regicide’ which
dealt with Crowley’s part in the Kennedy assassination and he
obviously had access to at least some of Crowley’s papers. Janney
was very well connected inside the CIA’s higher levels and when he
discovered that Douglas had indeed known, and had often spoken with,
Crowley and that after Crowley’s death, the FBI had descended on
Crowley’s widow and son, warning them to never speak with Douglas
about anything, he contacted Douglas and finally obtained from him a
number of original documents, including the originals of the
transcribed conversations with Robert Crowley.
In spite of the burn bags, the top secret safes and the
vigilance of the CIA to keep its own secrets, the truth has an
embarrassing and often very fatal habit of emerging, albeit decades
later.
While CIA drug running , money-launderings and brutal
assassinations are very often strongly rumored and suspected, it has
so far not been possible to actually pin them down but it is more
than possible that the publication of the transcribed and detailed
Crowley-Douglas conversations will do a great deal towards
accomplishing this.
These many transcribed conversations are relatively short
because Crowley was a man who tired easily but they make excellent
reading. There is an interesting admixture of shocking revelations
on the part of the retired CIA official and often rampant
anti-social (and very entertaining) activities on the part of
Douglas but readers of this new and on-going series are gently
reminded to always look for the truth in the jest!

GD:
Good evening, Robert. Too late for you?
RTC: No, finished eating a bit ago and was just about to start a
book on the Afghanistan business the Russians had. Not a problem.
GD:
Your people armed the natives there.
RTC:
Oh, yes, and the Russian helicopters fell from the heavens like
leaves from trees in the fall.
GD:
You created a Frankenstein’s monster there, Robert. Those
tribesmen are deadly guerrilla fighters and when they’re not
fighting invaders like Alexander the Great and the British, who
knows who them might go after next? Well, history counts for nothing
with those who do not understand it. I had some utterly mindless
twit talking to me the other day and somehow they got off on
out-of-body experiences. They were telling me about this Remote
Viewing business and said the CIA had invented it.
RTC:
My God, not that crap again, Gregory. Yes, we started it. You see,
we got news that the Russians were working on psychic phenomena
called psychotronics. The theory, and it was never more than that in
my mind, was that an agent who was trained could give information
about something hidden from physical observation while the so-called
viewer was at a distance from the sought-after object. This was on
my watch and was gathering steam about ’69 and into the ‘70’s.
Let me see if I can…Gregory, give me a minute of so and let me get
into my files…
GD:
Of course
(Long
pause)
RTC:
Here we are. The first program was named SCANATE which, according to
this, means scanning by coordinates and we started funding this
utter idiocy in ’70. We
got a hold of SRI….
GD:
Stanford Research Institute. It’s in Menlo Park, right up the road
from me. It was built on Dibble Hospital of the Army. I remember
Dibble from the wartime. We used to call it Dribble because they let
the nuts out to walk around Menlo Park and piss on parked cars.
Dribble. Charlie Burdick used to live in one of the reclaimed Army
barracks when he was going to Stanford back in ’52. Sorry to
digress, Robert. Please go on.
RTC:
No problem, Gregory. We also used the services of Science
Applications International Corporation in the same town. What do you
know about SRI? As a local?
GD:
I met some of their people when I worked at Stanford in the
hospital. A bunch of drooling nuts if you asked me. Two of their top
people ended up in the hospital’s psych ward. One kept hiding in
the toilet, claiming someone was trying to get into his mind and the
other just sat around talking to himself and wetting his pants. I
remember the CIA’s taking over the hospital basement with that
Filipino sailor with the plague…
RTC:
Jesus Christ, Gregory, how did you find out about that? That’s a
cosmic situation right there.
GD:
Everyone on the pathology staff knew it. When the guy died, they
came for the body in a special ambulance and there were armed guards
all over the cellar and the loading ramp.
RTC:
You ought not to talk about that.
GD:
What were they doing? Developing something nasty for the Russians?
RTC:
No, in this case, for the Red Chinese.
GD:
Lovely. Never mind that. Go on about the nut fringe.
RTC:
Gregory, I consider myself to be an intelligence agent with an Army
background. I consider myself to be innovative enough but not
interested in crazy stories about psychic powers. There are no
psychic powers, Gregory, only psychos babbling away to themselves.
Jesus, some of our people believed all of this. It started out
costing about fifty thousand and went upwards from there. A number
of us spent some time trying to persuade people like Dulles and
Helms to abandon this nonsense, as well as the completely useless
MK-Ultra programs that were draining our available funds and
spending valuable time on things that did not work and could not
work because they were based either on wishful thinking or downright
fraud. They had all kinds of con men running around claiming that
they were psychic and could see into KGB headquarters. SRI and the
morons in the upper levels actually hired the American
Institutes for Research crooks to work on some Stargate project in
conjunction with the Army and in spite of a total absense of any
kind of proof, they only discontinued their crap as late as ’95. I
have boxes of gibberish on this. By God, Gregory, we spent twenty
million on this fantasy crap before it stopped. McMahon was
fascinated with this. He became Deputy Director before he fouled up
and got the sack in’82.
GD:
What happened to him?
RTC: Went to work for Lockheed Martin as a lobbyist. Poor John was
another strange one. And Drs Gottleib and Cameron were two more
crazies we paid millions to for the purpose of creating controlled
agents…mind controlled that is…that we could use as assassins.
GD:
Like the movie.
RTC:
Exactly. They killed people by microwaving them, tossing them out of
windows, giving them heart attacks and killing off all kind of
failed experiments. Gottleib poisoned them and Cameron lured them
out into the Canadian wilds and shot them in the head. My God, what
raging idiots and not even the slightest successes. Millions wasted.
Joe Trento lusts after these files, which I slipped out when I left,
but I really don’t think Joe is capable of doing anything with
them. If you want them, I’ll get my son to box them up and ship
them to you. Could you use this?
GD:
Love it.
RTC:
Same address in Freeport?
GD:
Absolutely. Many thanks in advance, Robert. I might have some
trouble getting a publisher but I can work on it.
RTC:
Well, we control most of the major publishers or if we don’t, they
would never dare to put out anything that would get us upset. Hell,
we have our man right there in the New York Times and they jump
through the hoops, believe me. The Times is in our pocket
absolutely. Of course for silence, we give them inside stories.
Sometimes, Gregory, the stories are actually true. Can you believe
that?
GD:
Why not? I never believe anything I see in the press anyway. But
what if the pin heads at Langley…no offense, since you’ve
left….if the pin heads get wind of this? Don’t tell Trento.
RTC:
No. He’s like the rest of them. If he finds out I gave these to
you, he’ll run to Langley and squeal like a pig. And do not, I
repeat, do not tell either Kimmel or Bill. Kimmel would run to his
bosses and Bill would hire a sound truck. Kimmel doesn’t like you
at all but Bill has mixed feelings. No man can serve two masters,
let alone nine or ten and poor Bill runs around, filled with
self-importance and looking for a pat on the head.
GD:
If he tries anything on me, I’ll give him something very hard on
the head. Or through it.
RTC:
Now, now, Gregory, violence is not the solution. If you want to get
at either of them, feed them some disinformation and then when they
run around chattering about it, in the end, they’ll make fools of
themselves. Then, no one will believe them and you will have made
your point.
GD:
Poor Irving is hysterical about the Mueller book. Such a bad writer
and a worse ideologue. That one has about run his course and one of
these days, the loud-mouthed Jew will go too far and get nailed.
RTC:
Is Irving a Jew?
GD:
His mother was, so according to Jewish practice, David must be one
as well. Well, I know some rabid Nazis, Robert and at least two of
them are self-hating Jews. Well, they’re making money with it so
God bless them. Yes, I can use anything you send me. That file on
Critchfield is pure gold. If I ever published it, he would probably
shoot at me but in Washington, people would point at him in the
streets and laugh.
RTC:
I wouldn’t weep over that but be careful with him. He has friends.
GD:
Amazing. I take your point. Maybe he can catch a heart attack or get
cancer. Look at what happened to Ruby. Got cancer right in the jail.
That can be done, you know, by an injection. The heart attack we
both know about. No trace at the post and off to the maggot buffet
in a tin box. Better than shooting them at a play or tossing out the
window like they did in the ‘40s, right?
RTC:
Yes, a little subtlity is not a bad idea at times. Well, it will
mean more room here for other things so I’ll see what else I have
on these idiot games and see you get it.
GD:
Oh, psychics are wonderful, Robert. If you pay them enough,
they’ll see all kinds of brilliance in you.
People are such idiots. But still, when I want to really
laugh, I read some of the material on the Kennedy business.
Umbrellas, men in sewers and everything else. How much of that
garbage did your people make up?
RTC: We have people still cranking it out but there are so many nuts
out there that we really needn’t bother.
GD:
Well, from what I read about the fantasy world of Dallas in ’63,
most of the brilliant ones could get their haircuts in a pencil
sharpener.

A
CIA Officer's Calamitous Choices

Obituaries
can barely scrape the surface of anyone's 86-year life. That's
especially true for a covert intelligence officer whose
responsibility for top-secret decisions –
and their consequences –
is rarely acknowledged.
But long before he succumbed to
cancer on April 22, at the age of 86, retired CIA official James
Critchfield had owned up to two of his decisions that were so
momentous that they still influence the course of international
events. One opened the CIA's doors to ex-Nazis. The other cleared
the way for Saddam Hussein's rise to power in Iraq.
Critchfield made the first of
his fateful decisions soon after he joined the fledgling CIA in
1948. Three years earlier, Hitler's master spy for the Eastern
Front, Gen. Reinhard Gehlen, had surrendered to U.S. forces. He then
proposed a deal. In return for his freedom, he would turn over his
voluminous files on the Soviet Union along with his former agents
who had scattered across Europe.
Both the Army and the CIA
considered Gehlen a hot potato. They decided to assign someone the
task of weighing the pros and cons of his offer. That someone turned
out to be James Critchfield, a highly decorated Army colonel who had
led wartime units in Europe and North Africa and had greatly
impressed senior CIA personnel.
Critchfield
was transferred to the Gehlen compound in Pullach, Germany. After a
month or so of deliberation, he concluded that Washington would gain
substantial advantage over Moscow by annexing the "Gehlen
Org" into the CIA. He recommended that the agency do so and it
did.
For
the next four years, Critchfield remained Gehlen's CIA handler in
Germany. Then, in 1952, West German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer chose
Gehlen as the initial chief of the BND, West Germany's post-war
intelligence agency. Critchfield said Gehlen – on his death bed 27
years later – thanked Critchfield for his vital assistance in the
post-war period.
War
Criminals
Secret
documents declassified by the Clinton administration show that the
CIA's collaboration with the ex-Nazis was not merely a marriage of
convenience. It was more like a deal with the devil.
The
documents reveal that Gehlen had hired and protected hundreds of
Nazi war criminals. The more notorious of these Hitler henchmen
included Alois Brunner, Adolf Eichmann's right-hand man in
orchestrating the Final Solution, and Emil Augsburg, who directed
the Wansee Institute where the Final Solution was formulated and who
served in a unit that specialized in the extermination of Jews.
Another was the former Gestapo chief Heinrich Müller, Adolf
Eichmann's immediate superior whose signature appears on orders
written in 1943 for the deportation of 45,000 Jews to Auschwitz for
killing.
Furthermore,
the Gehlen Org was so thoroughly penetrated by Soviet spies that CIA
operations in Eastern Europe often ended in the murder of its
agents. To top it off, the Org fed the CIA a steady diet of
misinformation that fanned the flames of East-West hostility – and
thus assured the Org the continued patronage of Washington.
Many
historians of the CIA's early days have concluded that letting the
ex-Nazis in was the CIA's original sin, a moral failure that also
resulted in the distortion of the intelligence given U.S.
policymakers during the crucial early years of the Cold War.
Critchfield
of Arabia
Critchfield's
second fateful decision was in the Middle East, another flashpoint
of Cold War tensions.
In
1959, a young Saddam Hussein, allegedly in cahoots with the CIA,
botched an assassination attempt on Iraq's leader, Gen. Abdel Karim
Qassim. Hussein fled Iraq and reportedly hid out under the CIA's
protection and sponsorship.
By
early 1963, Qassim's policies were raising new alarms in Washington.
He had withdrawn Iraq from the pro-Western Baghdad Pact, made
friendly overtures to Moscow, and revoked oil exploration rights
granted by a predecessor to a consortium of companies that included
American oil interests.
It
fell to Critchfield, who was then in an extended tenure in charge of
the CIA's Near East and South Asia division, to remove Qassim.
Critchfield supported a coup d'etat in February 1963 that was
spearheaded by Iraq's Baathist party. The troublesome Qassim was
killed, as were scores of suspected communists who had been
identified by the CIA.
Critchfield
hailed the coup that brought the Baathists to power as "a great
victory." Yet the reality is that the coup further destabilized
an Iraq that had survived on the edge of crisis since its creation
as a British mandate, with arbitrarily selected borders, in the wake
of World War I and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
The
1963 coup also paved the way for another momentous political
development. Five years later, Saddam Hussein emerged as a leader in
another Baathist coup. Over the next decade, he bullied his way to
power, eventually consolidating a ruthless dictatorship that would
lead to three wars in less than a quarter century.
After
invading Iraq and ousting Hussein from power in April 2003, U.S.
occupiers of Iraq outlawed the Baath party that James Critchfield
and the CIA had helped install in the 1960s. Critchfield died two
weeks after Hussein's government was toppled.
In
retrospect, the United States and the world paid – and continue to
pay – a high price for the clandestine decisions made by
Critchfield and his unaccountable CIA cohorts. As was true of many
other "intelligence" decisions, actions perceived to be
short-term political gains turned out to be long-term calamities,
leading to corruption, disorder and human suffering.
Today,
with the Washington information flow again tightly controlled and
short on factual support, Critchfield's choices are a reminder that
un-elected officials, operating in secret, still make policy
decisions – and that their actions can affect the lives of
millions in the U.S. and around the world
Hitler's
Gestapo Chief Became Top Truman Advisor!
by Henry Makow Ph.D. | savethemales.ca
According
to Wikipedia,
Heinrich Mueller, (b. April 29, 1900) Chief of the Gestapo and
Adolph Eichmann's boss, "disappeared in May 1945 and remains
the only senior figure of the Nazi regime who was never captured or
confirmed to have died."
In fact, the
Gestapo boss escaped to Switzerland where he worked for the
government. In 1948, the CIA recruited him as a Soviet counter espionage
specialist because the US government was full of Communists. Frank
Wisner and James Kronthal recruited him for $50K annual salary
and a $1 million signing bonus.
Mueller was
soon on a first-name basis with President Harry S. Truman.. Wearing
his Nazi medals, Mueller entertained Truman at home, played Bach,
and gave him stolen art and a case of fine whiskey. Truman may be
his son's godfather.
Mueller came
to the US with his Gestapo helpers and soon had Washington
bugged. He spied on his CIA superiors and informed Truman that they
were tapping his phone. He advised Truman on Soviet intentions
during the Korean War based on his contacts with Soviet spies in
Washington, (including Kim Philby) and his experience as the
Communists' Number One Nemesis.
He lived
under a Swiss identity, had US army bodyguards and employed an assassin
who immediately dispatched anyone who raised questions about Mueller's
real identity. At least a half-dozen people met their end in this
way.
Mueller's
200-page Journal covering the period March 1949 to Sept 1951 is for
sale as a PDF file for $6.25 at www.tbrnews.org under the title
"The CIA Covenant: Nazis in Washington" by Gregory
Douglas. Some excerpts are on
the site. You can also pay $36 for the hard
cover at Amazon.
Obviously
capable of great ruthlessness, (he boasts of literally flushing
Hitler's would-be assassin down the toilet) Mueller emerges from
these journals as surprisingly civilized, urbane and intelligent. An
accomplished pianist and chess player, he enjoyed fine art and
literature. He was extremely wealthy thanks to gold and
art stolen during the war. One of his CIA functions was to
fence their stolen art.
He
says people like Alan Dulles, James Angleton and Frank Wisner
embezzled millions from "top secret" projects. For
example, they pocketed a million dollar bribe to depose the
democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister Mossedagh. Mueller got a
share.
A
Catholic, Mueller had worked for the Bavarian State Police and
prosecuted Nazis as well as Communists. When the Nazis came to
power, they kept him on the job. He became fiercely loyal to Adolph
Hitler and continued to celebrate the Fuehrer's birthday in
Washington with many highly-placed Americans.
"I
never was a practicing Nazi," he wrote April 9, 1949, "
but we cannot discuss that because a number of my [CIA] superiors
are secret sympathizers and that would not impress them at all. I am
now a true Party member and fighter against Communism."
Mueller regarded Washington as a cross between a zoo and an
insane asylum. He had contempt for his CIA colleagues whom he
cuckolded regularly. Many were gay and, in spite of being
racist, had Black lovers. The wives were also a rich source of
information.
The CIA is filled with" pseudo-intellectuals, drunks and
egomaniacs" that have no idea at all what they are doing, he
wrote. "[Alan] Dulles is one of those well-bred idiots who
went to the correct schools and met the right people. If it weren't
for that, he would be scrubbing toilets in the YMCA in some small
town in New Jersey."
The
CIA were trying to set national policy and would be responsible
for the Beacon of Democracy sliding into Fascism,
which he admitted was preferable to Communism. (Actually they both
represent occult plutocratic totaltarian control. The CIA
probably masterminded the JFK assassination and was involved
in 9-11.)
Mueller's admiration is reserved for Harry Truman, whom
he considered an honest unpretentious man, and bulwark against
Communism. Communists took over the US government under FDR.
If he had succeeded in putting Henry Wallace on the ticket,
" there is no doubt that the red flag would be flying over the
“People’s Republic of North America” at this moment."
(June 14, 1950)
Mueller doesn't seem to appreciate that the
Communist-Fascist split reflects two branches of Freemasonry divided
into house teams for the sake of war. Like FDR, Truman was a top
ranking Freemason. The Illuminati Council had decided on a Cold
War and obviously could not have a Communist (Wallace) in
charge in America.
Nazis
were recruited because the US team had too many Communists/
"internationalists." Mueller and the CIA apparently was
behind Sen. Joseph McCarthy's campaign against Communists in US
government with the tacit support of Truman although Mueller
regarded McCarthy as a grandstander, drunk and "fairy."
The
"Cold War" was a continuation of WWII, with the US
replacing the Nazis on the "anti-Communist" side. The
"War on Terror" replaces the Cold War with "Islamo
Fascism" facing off against "Zionism." I do
not know if the Illuminati controls Iran and Russia/China, but
naturally I'd like to think they represent resistance to the NWO.
The Holocaust
Mueller's Journal is extremely credible which is why his
comments on the Jewish holocaust are very provocative.
Remember this Journal supposedly was not intended to become
public. On July 9, 1949 he wrote:
"The
Americans ought to set up some sort of detention camp system and put
people like [Alger] Hiss and others into protective custody. I had
some idiot tell me yesterday that all of our camps were filled with
Jews who we gassed by the millions and then turned into lampshades,
ladies gloves and hand soap! I have no idea where they get such shit
but I imagine the American press makes it up for political reasons.
The camps were never designed for Jews and we did not gas millions
of them or make soap out of their remains. The camps were mostly for
professional criminals and communists. About 75% of all camp inmates
at any one given time were political prisoners and the rest divided
up between criminals, spies and Jews. The worst error Himmler ever
made was to put Russian prisoners into the camps because this
brought typhus that killed off thousands of prisoners. The pictures
often shown here of stacks of emaciated corpses are not pictures of
dead Jews but pictures of typhus victims. And gas chambers at Dachau
with sixty thousand gassed Jews there! I have visited Dachau on
several occasions and no one was ever gassed there. Pictures of
ovens with titles that “in these ovens, tens of thousands of
murdered Jews were cremated” is more nonsense. All prisoners who
died in jail were cremated and their ashes sent home. And especially
with the typhus epidemics raging everywhere. Well, I can say nothing
about it so on to other matters."
According to R. Wistrich,
(Who's Who in Nazi Germany)
Mueller had a central role in the extermination of European Jewry.
"He signed the circulating order requiring the immediate
delivery to Auschwitz by 31 January 1943 of 45,000 Jews for
extermination and countless other documents of the same tenor, which
reveal his zeal in carrying out orders. In the summer of 1943 he was
sent to Rome to pressurize the Italians, who were proving singularly
inefficient and unenthusiastic in arresting Jews. ...In his hands,
mass murder became an automatic administrative
procedure."(p.174)
In
his Interrogation, Mueller claimed: "You want to know what my
role in these camps was. Let me be very brief about that. I put
people into such camps for criminal or political offenses. I did not
have anything whatsoever to do with the running of these camps nor
their policies." He also claimed that he has a clear
recollection that only a half million died in the camps, many of
typhus and not all Jews.
After becoming Gestapo Chief, Mueller was briefly in charge
of arranging Jewish emigration. In 1939 he personally organized the
famous steamship "St. Louis" effort to settle 900
well-to-do German Jews in Cuba. FDR felt they were too close to
America and blocked it, evidence that Roosevelt represented a power
that was not strictly speaking "Jewish."
Conclusion
Mueller felt that Hitler's use of anti-Semitism to
unite the German people backfired against Germany. He
recognized that many Communists were Jews but many Jews were not.
"I do not hate Jews... and have better things to do than
persecute them." He claimed that more than half of Berlin
Jews were still there at war's end. He was surprised to find more
anti-Semitism in the top ranks of the US military and CIA than in
similar positions in Nazi Germany. The CIA took over the
"rat lines" to Syria and South America. They sent Nazis to
bolster the Syrians against the Israelis. The Illuminati built
up both sides to foment conflict.
There is much else of interest in this book but I only have
space to tantalize you. Mueller says the Israelis wanted to attack
Saudi Arabia in 1949 and Truman had to threaten military action to
stop them. The Stern Gang tried to assassinate Truman but the team
was apprehended and killed. Roosevelt had Huey Long killed and
"made a deal with the Pope" to shut down
Father Coughlin. The British wanted the US and Russia to
destroy each other. Mueller suggests that Hitler escaped to
Spain after the war and UFO's (flying saucers) are indeed
extraterrestial.
The Journal is gossipy and personal and extremely
entertaining. There is no question in my mind of its
authenticity but I am not omniscient. Mueller, who had in
excess of $50 million, married a rich young socialite who bore
him a son. The diary ends before Eisenhower took power so
we don’t know if Mueller retired. He had estates in Virginia and
Colorado and died in 1983 in California.
The Journal is an incomparable insight into a
fascinating period. Clearly history is a charade manufactured
by an immoral international clique, to control and exploit
mankind. Like Mafia families, they have real
rivalries, contain both powerful Zionist and anti-Semitic elements
but ultimately have the same goal, world dictatorship. This
lesson is particularly relevant today when they are trying to
fabricate a "Clash of Civilizations" i.e. a Third World
War
China
pushes Russia to investigate ship incident
Associated
Press : February 20, 2009
BEIJING: China said Friday it was "shocked" by the
sinking of a Chinese cargo ship by a Russian warship and had
summoned the Russian ambassador to push for a complete
investigation.
Deputy Foreign Minister Li Hui also told Russian Ambassador
Sergey Razov that China "cannot accept the incident and
expresses strong dissatisfaction," according to a statement
posted on the Foreign Ministry's Web site.
Li called on Russia to do its best to search for eight crew
members who went missing after the sinking in waters near
Vladivostok.
"China was shocked by this incident," he said.
Russian news agencies reported earlier that Russian border
guards opened fire last weekend on the Chinese cargo ship as it
sailed off the Russian far eastern port city, and that it later sank
in a storm.
Russia's Interfax news agency said the New Star, carrying a
crew of 16 sailors from China and Indonesia, was fleeing border
guards in the Sea of Japan when the shooting occurred. The guards
were pursuing the ship because it had left the port of Nakhodka
without notifying authorities, it said.
On Friday, Interfax quoted Russia's Foreign Ministry as
saying that the captain of the ship was to blame because he violated
border laws and refused to stop his ship when warning shots were
fired.
"We regret the tragic consequences of these events.
However, we lay the whole responsibility for what happened on the
New Star captain, who acted extremely irresponsibly," Interfax
quoted ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko as saying.
Interfax earlier said the New Star had turned around after
being shot at but started sinking as a storm struck.
The sailors jumped into two lifeboats but strong waves
overturned one of them and border guards were only able to rescue
eight crew members, it said.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said Thursday
that 10 members of the crew were Chinese and only three had been
rescued.
Interfax said rescuers had searched the freezing waters for
the bodies of the missing sailors.
